At this time of the year, Christians around the world celebrate Jesus, especially on December 25th – Christmas Day. It’s a wonderful experience which I always enjoy and I hope you do too. However, we need to celebrate Jesus all through the year and not only at Christmas time, although Christmas time is extra special as we celebrate his birth. Celebrating Jesus means rejoicing in who he is.
Why Celebrate Jesus?
We celebrate Jesus for who he is – God manifested in human form, and what he does. “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. Through him all things were made; and without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind…The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us” (John 1:1-14). That Word that became flesh was a very special manifestation of God in human form, by the name of Jesus.
We also read in John 3:16-17, that God loved the world so much that he gave us his dear son Jesus that “whoever believes in him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” God sent us Jesus to save the world. Thank God for Jesus.
Jesus lived an excellent life, taught many valuable lessons, performed several miracles, and died so that we can be saved. He resurrected on the third day, and his spirit is still alive today. Jesus has done and continues to do more for us than we can do for ourselves. He loves us unconditionally. When you read about, understand, and have a close relationship with Jesus, you cannot help but love him too, and celebrate him, not just at Christmas, but every day.
How to Celebrate Jesus
Take some time every day to acknowledge Jesus and rejoice in his presence. He is one with God, our Father. As he said, “I and the Father are One” (John 10:30). A simple way to acknowledge Jesus and rejoice in his presence is to always put God first. Make God your top priority in life, dedicate your life to him, and allocate some of your resources to him, especially your time.
Spend quality time with God, praise, worship, and communicate with him in prayer every day. He is always with you, and can be your best friend. Read more about God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, especially from the Bible and get to know them better.
God created us for his glory and he wants a relationship with us. Sing, dance, and glorify our God every day, including Christmas Day. Celebrate the birth of Jesus on Christmas Day and his presence as one with God, every day. Love God as much as you can and live more consciously with him on Christmas Day and every day. Have a blessed Christmas!
