We serve an Almighty God who loves us and is “our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in the day of trouble” (Psalm 46:1). The solution to many problems we face can be found in having a better relationship with God, prayer, reading God’s inspired words (the Bible), trusting him, and following his lead. The Bible is full of good advice for solving problems. One of the best advice is, “Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and He will direct your path” (Proverbs 3:5-6).

God directs our paths in different ways…

You may ask, “How does God direct our paths?” God directs our paths in different ways, for example, when we communicate with him in prayer; through our relationship with Him, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Spirit who lives in us; reading the Scriptures; through dreams and visions; and using other people and circumstances in our lives. If you want to be clearer about God’s guidance, start building a closer relationship with Him and ask him to help you understand him more clearly as he communicates with you. God will help you overcome your challenges and solve your problems.

Many solutions can be found in the Bible

The Bible is a great guide for helping us solve many of our problems. My favorite parts of the Bible are the Gospel (Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John), especially the words of Jesus, the Psalms and Proverbs. You can find great advice and solutions to many of your problems including:

  • Anxiety
  • Confidence
  • Discouragement
  • Fear
  • Grief
  • Health
  • Loneliness
  • Spiritual warfare
  • Success
  • Wealth

As you study the Scriptures that deal with the problems you face, remember that “without faith it is impossible to please God” (Heb. 11:6) and “faith without works is dead” (Js. 2:20). You have to believe and you must act on your faith. God will do his part, but you also need to do yours.

While the Bible is my absolute favorite book, another of my favorites is God’s Promises for Your Every Need. I have used it over the years and always found it helpful. I hope you enjoy reading it as much as I have.
